On Tuesday January 10, 2012 I walked into the Mercedes-Benz dealership of Shrewsbury and was greeted with friendly faces and smiles. I was offered assistance and asked to be sure to let anyone in their team know if I had any questions, however, never once was I pressured or harassed by the sales team while leisurely considering my options in the showroom and outdoor lot. With the assistance of Adam Orlando, I was able to test drive the 2012 GLK350 on the spot from which I should note, an impressive number of GLKS in varying colors and options was available to meet anyone's needs. Before I knew it, I fell in love with the vehicle and walked out within the hour with a brand new GLK. Adam and his colleague, Glenn Shaw, both were extremely helpful in facilitating the paperwork process making it actually an enjoyable and exciting experience for me. Since the purchase I?ve received an impressive 3 follow up customer service calls from Adam, Glenn, and the General Manager, Aidan Power, ensuring I was still satisfied with my vehicle. I'm extremely pleased with the recent purchase and would recommend Mercedes-Benz of Shrewsbury, the staff, and of course the vehicle to anyone looking for a well-rounded, safe SUV.
Not to be outdone by its competitors from Ingolstadt, Mercedes-Benz brought out its own vision of the future of interiors, complete with augmented reality, a fully customizable dashboard and gesture-based controls. There's not a knob or button to be found...

The video after the jump demonstrates the Dynamic & Intuitive Control Experience (DICE) far better than words can convey, but the basic elements are these: a series of proximity sensors detect hand motions across the interior, allowing you to scroll, select and control a variety of functions. The highlights include the ability to get information about the businesses and sights around you, connect with friends nearby and control all the standard music and navigation functionality you'd expect in a high-end ride.

Mercedes-Benz brings the matte in from the cold

Mercedes-Benz CLS550 4Matic in matte silverSome things are at the fringe because they belong there. The tastes are too peculiar, the style too strange for the masses. But once in a while something emerges from the fringe into the mainstream because it deserves to be, because people learn to like it. Like matte paint finishes.

Long the purview of aftermarket tuners rejecting the glitz of the gloss, matte finishes are slowly finding their way onto automakers' show stands and into dealership showrooms. Hyundai broke new ground at the Detroit Auto Show this week in announcing the availability of the new Veloster Turbo in flat grey, but the Korean automaker isn't the only one offering the anti-shine treatment direct from the factory and displaying it on the floor of Cobo Hall.

This is the quickest Mercedes-Benz ever

Renntech Mercedes-Benz SLRBehold what could very possibly be the world's quickest Mercedes-Benz. The good people at Renntech managed to get their hands on a Mercedes-Benz SLR, and quickly set to nudging the power to obscene levels.

According to DragTimes.com, the vehicle boasts 160 horsepower over stock form, which puts the final output in the neighborhood of 680 ponies at the rear wheels. Throw in a set of Hoosier drag slicks and you have a vehicle capable of dashing to 60 in a scant 2.2 seconds. That's plenty  quick, and the vehicle doesn't give anything up as it heads toward the   quarter mile.

Mercedes-Benz Turns Car Tuners With Matte Paint Finishes

Have you ever heard the saying "If it isn't broke don't fix it?" Well that is how some people feel about Mercedes-Benz's new styling, matte paint finishes. Not likely to be the new standard but an option that is available.

Inspired by the car tuners, matte paint finishes are becoming a top choice in that community and auto manufacturers are starting to follow suit. Hyundai put their foot in the ring by introducing a Veloster Turbo at the Detroit Auto Show with a flat grey finish. Mercedes-Benz caught the wave and is offering a variety of matte colors including white, silver, dark grey, and others to follow.

Mbrace2 Brings Facebook and Web Browsing to Mercedes-Benz

Have you ever wished you could scroll through your Facebook feed, find great eats with Yelp or search Google while waiting in your car? Some people might jump to their smartphone but Mercedes-Benz has revolutionized the car experience once again with their Mbrace2.

"It works seamlessly, automatically, and 24-7. I admit that [it] won't change the world, but it is a very real improvement in terms of independence," 1 Dr. Dieter Zetsche, head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, said in a keynote speech here at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The Mbrace2 is powered by a cloud based service from Hughes…

Mercedes-Benz: Making Green Cars Cooler

At the Detroit Auto Show Mercedes-Benz rolled out two new hybrid E-Class vehicles, a diesel and a gasoline version. Mercedes-Benz has dubbed the E300 diesel hybrid as the "world's most economical luxury-class model." Although the diesel will launch in Europe, the US will see the gasoline E400 hybrid first and Japan China and other countries following. There has not been a set price yet for the hybrid E-Class vehicles but Mercedes-Benz did say that?

Mercedes Benz.tv: The new SL. Athlete, Aesthete

Symbiosis between sportiness, style, comfort and innovation -- That is the new SL. This film lets you experience the roadster's highlights. The famous abbreviation "SL" stands for super light. And can be taken literally on this model. Thanks to its aluminum structure it weighs up to 140 kg less than its predecessor. This provides more dynamic handling combined with lower fuel consumption -- and absolute driving pleasure.

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL is still the daddy

2013 Mercedes-Benz SL550 - Detroit Auto Show revealIt's the eve of press days at the Detroit Auto Show, and Mercedes-Benz has kicked off the week in fine style with the premiere of its 2013 SL. While the 60-year-old franchise has periodically undergone radical revisions, the sixth-generation should look familiar to anyone who has seen the outgoing model, but that doesn't mean that Benz hasn't tugged and pulled the SL every which way. While the general form looks very similar to the fifth-generation roadster, there are subtle tweaks everywhere, the most noticeable being the eagle's-eye LED daytime running lamps.
